2. Society dues: The statutes of SE17 require all participants in the conference to be members of the Society during the calendar year in which the conference takes place. If you are already a member but have not yet paid 2014 membership dues, or would like to pay past dues owed, you may include your payment with your conference registration. The year of your most recent dues payment will appear when you register.

Online conference registration is only available to members of SE17. For those becoming members for the first time, you will first need to apply for membership and make your annual dues payment. You may become a member here. Upon payment of dues, you will receive a receipt from PayPal. Your membership will then be manually approved and activated by the Executive Director, within a week. Thank you for your patience. When you have received confirmation that your membership has been activated, you may then register for the conference.

Conference Locations

The Conference will take place at two locations.

Thursday and Friday’s sessions will take place at the conference hotel, in the Gunnery Ballroom (and the Armouries Ballroom for the parallel sessions).
Saturday’s meetings (including the plenary conference) will take place at the Conron Hall in University College building of Western. Buses will leave from the hotel at 8:30 AM to return at 8:15PM. Those missing this bus can easily reach the campus through taxis or city buses (routes 2, 6, 13). Parking will be available upon request around the building.

The Delta Armouries is located in downtown London close to the Market, the Eldon House, the London Library and the London Museum. There are many parks nearby, the Victoria Park, the Ivey Park and the Harris Park along the Thames River. Nearby restaurant suggestions will accompany conference registration materials. Those with an extra day or more in the area may wish to explore nearby attractions: http://www.londontourism.ca, or visit the lakes nearby (the Pinery, Niagara Falls, Stratford, Toronto are only a few examples).

Travel and Transportation

Getting to London:

The London area is served primarily by three airports:

1. London (YXU), served by Air Canada, United, West Jet;

2. Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ), 
served by many major airlines (recommended if you come from Europe or Canada);

3. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW), served by many major airlines (recommended if you come from the US).

Taxi rides from London Airport to the Delta Armouries Hotel should cost about $30.

Shuttles from YYZ to London cost about $100 (round-trip) at a preferential rate for the conference with Robert Q and from DTW to London at about $130 (round-trip). www.robertq.com.

The city is also accessible through train with ViaRail or coach buses with Greyhound. Both stations are within walking distance to the Hotel.

For those driving on the 401 highway: exit at Wellington Rd and follow the indications to downtown.
