Récits de voyage au féminin
Si la mobilité des femmes a, d’une perspective historique, longtemps été limitée, il existe tout de même un corpus riche de femmes-auteures qui ont voyagé soit lorsque cela était encore hors du commun, soit dans les années plus récentes, et qui nous ont apporté un point de vue bien à elles sur l’ailleurs. Ce panel compte retracer la progression du récit de voyage au féminin, en tissant des liens entre les continents, les époques et les cultures. Des approches historiques, sociales, culturelles et/ou théoriques, des lectures d’auteures et de textes spécifiques ainsi que des perspectives multidisciplinaires sont les bienvenues.
(Post)Colonialism in the Female Gaze
This panel proposes to revisit the question of femininity in the light of a (re)definition of (post)colonialism. Gender, race, ethnicity, and nation being intersectional concepts, how does this affect the place of women (writers, characters, narrators, etc.) in French and Francophone countries occupy in relation to (post)colonialism? How it this place articulated, shown, or problematized? What are the complications, paradoxes, or erasures that the particular positionality of women bring up? Has the question shifted away from postcolonialism in the recent years and/or how relevant is this concept still, especially in the case of women? How does this appear over time in a corpus au féminin? Theoretical (re)readings of this question are also welcome.
