Documentary Writing and Art Objects in the early Modern Era
(Friday, July 5)
We invite applications for 20 minute papers presenting original research on either the reception of China in France in written reports or the adaptation of China in France in objects and architecture during the 17th to the 19th centuries. We encourage colleagues in French and Comparative Literature, Anthropology, History and Art History to apply, and welcome inter-disciplinary subjects. Our ambition is to publish the papers following the conference to add to the existing scholarship on our topics a group of solidly researched essays on France-China relations and newly explored cross-cultural studies.
The conference will be held in English or French (20 minute papers). Deadline for applications is the 15th of February 2019. Please email fknothe@hku.hk.

L'écriture documentaire et les objets d'art au début de l'ère moderne

Nous vous invitons à soumettre des propositions de communication originales portant sur la réception de la Chine en France dans les textes, ou encore sur l’influence de la Chine sur la France dans les objets et l'architecture, entre le XVIIeet le XIXe siècle. Nous encourageons nos collègues en littérature française et comparée, en anthropologie, en histoire et en histoire de l'art à poser leur candidature et à soumettre des sujets interdisciplinaires. Notre ambition est de publier les communications qui suivront la conférence afin de contribuer à la recherche existante sur ces sujets portant sur les relations France-Chine et sur les nouvelles études interculturelles.
Les presentations se dérouleront en anglais ou en français (durée de 20 minutes). La date limite pour l’envoi d’une proposition est le 15 février 2019. Merci d’envoyer votre proposition à fknothe@hku.hk.
