Ohio State University: tenure-track (Early Modern French Studies) Open until filled

Description: The Department of French and Italian at the Ohio State University is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Early Modern French Studies. Research and teaching specializations are open, but we are particularly interested in candidates whose work addresses the intersection of literature and science/technology (ecocriticism, narrative medicine, visual culture, exploration/early colonial studies, etc.). Candidates who bridge traditional chronological sub-field specializations (16th, 17th, and/or 18th centuries), or who have a specialization in one of these areas and a demonstrable secondary expertise in another, are especially desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate survey and general education courses as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate courses on topics of the candidate’s choice.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment (August 14, 2015). Native or near-native fluency in English and French. Application Instructions (sample language):

Application Instructions: Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference. Inquiries may be directed to Professor Jennifer Willging at willging.1@osu.edu. Review of applications will begin on November 15, and we encourage submission before that date. However, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
