James Madison University, tenure-track (generalist)

General Info: The Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track position in French at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2015.

Duties and Responsibilities: The teaching load is three courses per semester balanced among French 300 - 400 level language, literature and culture, possibly including interdisciplinary courses.

Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by August 2015 in post-Renaissance Metropolitan French literature and culture and have native or near-native fluency both in French and in English. Additionally, candidates should have an excellent knowledge of French culture.

Candidates should also have an excellent record of prior teaching experience and show evidence of strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, service and scholarly activity.

Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience
